15 original Christmas gift ideas

If you're reading this, you're probably wondering what to give someone you love. Don't worry – I've been in that spot many times myself. I used to wait until the very last moment for inspiration to strike. Then I'd run out of time and panic-buy something silly just so I had something to give. To stop that happening again, I now jot down ideas all year round and start preparing gifts well in advance.

This time I decided to share my 15 best Christmas gift ideas with you. Maybe they'll inspire you to give some of them to your loved ones too. Some take a little more time to prepare, but they're worth every minute!

1. A photo shoot voucher

A lovely gift the recipient can use for a family shoot, a shoot with a friend or partner, or a solo session. The result is professional photos that are perfect for social media, for framing, or for looking back on years later.

2. A treasure hunt

A tried-and-tested, really fun gift that's definitely not just for kids! Make a set of cards with clues or riddles about where the next card is hidden. Hide them around the house or garden, and at the final stop, the treasure – the gift – is waiting.

3. Their favourite treat

Who wouldn't love their favourite muffins, brownies, cake or biscuits? An inexpensive gift that always puts a smile on someone's face.
